Platt Christmas Cards

For about 6-8 years after college, I drew my own Christmas cards and sent them out by the dozens. They were pretty popular, but this was also a time when these were about the only cartoons I'd draw all year!

Someday I may return to drawing my own cards -- I've got at least 20 ideas sitting around in my files -- but until then, here are a few of the cards from years past!

Happy holidays!

Bizarro!

This, from a few years ago, was my first attempt at coloring with markers. Obviously, some of that didn't work out too well. But still, I'm happy with the general look and the linework.

No, wait... it am perfect!

Happy Alligator

Say hello, won't you?

This was drawn last year on a 3x5 card, my version of an "ACEO," since I didn't have any trading-card sized paper. (ACEO purists were not amused.)

Meet Mr. Feet

Here's a quickie sketch from a few days ago -- an attempt to do something a little bit different. Less detail, different pens, even more in the "bigfoot" style of cartooning, and not making a lick of sense. I kinda like it.

Anger

Here's a new one. Just drawn yesterday, in fact! The first of a new set of surreal drawings. Hope you like it!

Fish Guy

Here's a neat little monster I drew a while back. I loves the monsters.

Bride of Frank

What is it with me and screams?

This is one of my favorite illos. I think I need to re-scan it. But so it goes.

Da Hulk

I don't work in color very often, but when I do, it turns out something like this:Click on the image to see it get biggified (although I kinda like it better in the reduced version).

Welcome to Platt Arts!

Okay, so I draw, see? And these pictures, they don't have to exist only for me. This here bloggity thing is a chance for me to show 'em off, and you to enjoy them (or not).

Here's drawing number one. I call it "Scream # 5," for the obvious reason that it's the fifth drawing of a person screaming that I've scanned.

Lots more to come. And check out the webcomic for drawings with words!
